Payit™ – A New Online Payment Solution

IAA now offers Payit™, the easiest way for domestic and international* buyers to complete purchases online quickly and securely.

Payit is safely integrated with IAA’s payment system and connects to nearly all major banks in the UK allowing transfer of funds within minutes using your desktop, laptop, mobile or tablet.

You can now pay for your purchases online with IAA’s new integration of the Payit service. Simple as 1-2-3!

  1. Go to ‘My Vehicles To Be Paid’ section under your Dashboard.
  2. Select the vehicle(s) that are outstanding on your account and which you would like to pay for before reaching ‘Checkout’.
  3. Once at ‘Checkout’ you select the ‘Payit’ option, follow the next steps through to your online banking provider and complete the transaction.

If the payment is successful you will get a receipt outlining the details, including the bill of sale which is in the vehicle history section listed under My Auction Centre.

Payit™ is a fast, easy and safe way to make payments online. No need to login, sign up or get card details. No passwords or authorisation codes. Just see all your bank account and account balances in one go. Then select the way you’d like to pay.  

Payit™ uses the UK’s Open Banking infrastructure to securely connect to your bank’s mobile banking app or online banking. This allows you to log in using your existing credentials. Payit™ does not see your login credentials and Payit™ does not store or share any of your personal bank account information. More details on Open Banking.

Yes. You can use Payit™ on a web browser, although the journey will be even smoother on a mobile. You will need to sign into your online banking to use Payit™ via a web browser.

There is no limit on how much you can pay. However, there may be a limit on how much your bank allows you to transact. This is set by the bank and is not a limitation placed by Payit™.

Payit™ does not charge for you to make payments.

Sometimes transactions may be held by your bank to do some further checks. You can check your mobile or online banking to see if the payment was released by the bank or alternatively contact them through your usual channels.

If Payit™ advised the payment was cancelled or failed, then no funds should be taken. If the payment is in progress or you are unsure if it was successful, we suggest you wait for a few hours, then check your online or mobile banking again to see if it has or hasn’t gone through. If there is still an issue, please contact your bank.

  1. Make sure you have the updated version of the banking app
  2. If you are using an Android device, use Chrome instead of Samsung internet OR ensure you have enabled the setting in Samsung internet under ‘Useful Features’ called ‘Open links in other apps’.
  3. If you are on an Android device and are completing the payment journey through another app, such as a social media channel – copy the browser link and open in your standard browser app instead.

Payit™ is connected to most UK banks and is adding more daily, please keep an eye out for your bank to be added to the list.

Any payments you make via Payit™ will be reflected in your Bank Statement.

Once a payment is made via Payit™, money should be taken out of your account almost immediately. However, this can sometimes take up to two hours.
